Album cover refresh

The objective of this project was to choose an album cover or poster and recreate it in a way that aligned with our own artistic vision. I was inspired to bring a modern and minimalist approach to The 1975’s fourth album, Notes On a Conditional Form. Having photographed the band live at their Lollapalooza show in August 2023, I decided to use one of my original photos as the foundation for the cover. Drawing inspiration from the original design, I chose to reinterpret its elements with an inverted approach.

To create my visual, I used bold typography while minimizing the amount of text. For the color palette, I matched the text color to the muted yellow tones in my photograph, ensuring it blended with the image while reflecting the yellow accents of the original design. I reduced the text's opacity to allow the photograph to remain the central feature of the entire piece.

Each decision in reimagining this album cover was made thoughtfully, combining key elements of NOACF with my personal design style to create a fresh yet cohesive alternative version.
